About the Course

Data collection is a crucial component of any developmental project. In the past, it was primarily conducted using paper and pen, which often led to errors and posed challenges when managing large-scale efforts. EpiCollect is a suite of tools that allows data collection using Android mobile devices and data submission to an online server. This training on mobile data collection using EpiCollect will equip the participants with skills to author, field and manage mobile data collection platforms using EpiCollect.

Target Participants

The course is useful for professionals who use data as part of their work and who need to make decisions from data analysis. This course does not assume prior knowledge of EpiCollect or any other data collection platform.

  • Convert paper forms/questionnaires into digital forms that can be used for mobile data collection and case management
  • Create a Project website at EpiCollect.net
  • Use EpiCollect form builder to design a Form
  • Load the Project into the EpiCollect app on your phone
  • Collect multiple sets of geotagged data
  • Synchronise data from your phone with your project website
  • View data using Google Maps and Google Earth at your Project Website
